3 Egypt Attractions You Must Visit

Egypt is a country in North Africa and the Arab world, and is famous for its ancient monuments, like the Great Pyramids of Giza.

The country has many attractions to offer, from bustling markets to ancient temples. Some of the most popular attractions are:

  1. The Great Pyramids of Giza

The Great Pyramids of Giza are the last remaining of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. They are a must-see for anyone visiting Egypt, and with good reason.

The Great Pyramids are located on a plateau just outside of Cairo, on the outskirts of what used to be a fertile area. The pyramids were built in honor of three major Egyptian pharaohs: Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure. The only remaining Wonder is the Great Pyramid at Giza, which was built by Pharaoh Khufu (also known as Cheops).

  1. Abu Simbel Temple

The Abu Simbel Temple is a rock-cut Ancient Egyptian temple located near the southern border of Egypt. It was originally built by Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BC as a monument to himself.

The temple was relocated in 1968 by UNESCO, so that it would be safeguarded from flooding due to the construction of the Aswan Dam. The new location is about 230 meters from its original site.

  1. Valley of the Kings

The Valley of the Kings is ancient Egyptian burial place.

The Valley of the Kings is an ancient Egyptian burial place. It was discovered in 1817 by a team of French archaeologists led by Jean-Francois Champollion and Henry Salt. The Valley was named after the discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamun, who ruled Egypt from 1333 BC to 1323 BC.

The majority of tombs were constructed for Pharaohs and their families, but there are also some tombs belonging to nobles and other people who had close connections with them. The valley contains both pyramids and temples that were constructed over a period of about 1,500 years (from 15th century BC to 11th century AD)
