Camper Van Life in Thailand
Thailand is known for many things, and one of the best things about this lovely country is the natural sights and scenes it has in abundance. And one of the best ways of exploring this wonderful country is to travel around the whole country in a camper van. And considering the cost of a vehicle isn’t too expensive, you can quite easily build one on a small budget. Given the plethora of passenger vans available on the second-hand market, you could pick one up easily on the Facebook marketplace for a little over THB$100,000 (US$2,800+/-).
The rules for free camping aren’t as strict in Thailand as they are in many other countries, but of course, one should still practice being considerate by taking nothing but pictures and leaving nothing but footprints wherever you may choose to spend the night.
There are many national parks, and private camping grounds available all across the country. You will have easy access to facilities if you are the glamping sort. But if you prefer to rough it up or you’re lucky enough to own a fully self-sufficient campervan, then you can visit the mountains in Chang Mai or Khao Yai National Park.
The options are endless when it comes to living the camper van life in Thailand. The country is relatively safe but precautions will need to be taken. For example, don’t be a silly goat and park up on the side of the street for the night. Just pull into one of the many petrol stations across the country where you will be relatively safe. Everyone should take the opportunity to explore Thailand with a camper van if given the opportunity and go on an adventure that’ll fill you with memories that’ll last a lifetime.
